We recall that Microsoft had previously stated that the problem consisted of "a decrease in performance when copying large files from a remote computer to a Windows 11 computer or when copying files to a local drive". Over the months, then, many users have even reported a doubling of the times to complete the transfer operations compared to previous releases of the operating system. The problem tended to manifest itself in operations that occurred through the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol, but in some cases it was also encountered when copying files locally.
